
Aquest UV Tech was approached by a contractor to supply a UV disinfection solution to treat the MBR permeate discharged from Potsdam WWTP into the Milnerton lagoon, in Cape Town, South Africa. Because this is an ecologically sensitive water body, UV was the preferred solution specified by the consulting engineers in the tender document outlining the project requirements. The objective was to effectively disinfect and remove all pathogens in line with SANS special limit with faecal coliforms as the target microorganism for disinfection.
